DeVendre Johnson is an animal lover, and a natural when it comes to connecting with dogs. Born into a family of dog trainers, his first introduction to training came when he was only nine years old, and he received his first dog, a pitbull mix. DeVendre grew up around working and movie dogs with his uncle, an on set Hollywood dog trainer. By the time he got his second dog, a pure breed pitbull, he had mastered techniques used since the 70s to train all of Hollywood’s dogs, from The Doberman Gang to Long Street.

DeVendre has never looked back since. From interning at a veterinary clinic as soon as he graduated high school, to working along side Ringsport expert Darryl Young and Rottweiler master Tim Hundley, DeVendre has honed his craft and expanded his expertise with his every step. With over 25 years of professional experience, DeVendre has worked with a variety of award winning clients, professionals, and dogs, providing top of the line training, boarding, and bonding experiences for all dogs.

DeVendre’s Dog Masters Academy is the culmination of over 30 years of passion, dedication and hands on work. They offer a premier experience for all dogs and owners, using proprietary techniques that blend the most effective, positive and humane dog training tactics to date. Offering short and long term boarding, on site training, and private sessions, clients come from all over California to experience the wonders of DeVendre’s developmental services. Whatever the pup needs- whether it be rehab, bootcamp, or day care, we promise to change and uplift each dog for the better.
